Why September? Because Every Great Story Needs an Issue #1

September 2026 marks the beginning of a new chapter.

If you’re reading this, you’ve found As Seen At Comic-Con — ASACC.

And yes, we chose September deliberately.

September has always felt like a good month for new beginnings. Summer convention season has filled camera rolls, emptied wallets and left thousands of us thinking exactly the same thing:

“Why didn’t I buy that when I saw it?”

You know the one.

That piece of artwork you walked past three times. The figure you decided you’d come back for later. The comic you couldn’t quite justify. The handmade gift that would now be absolutely perfect for someone’s birthday.

Then the convention finishes.

The traders pack their vans. The banners come down. The hall empties.

And suddenly you realise you don’t actually know who was selling it.

That’s where ASACC comes in.

A marketplace built around the people behind the stalls

As Seen At Comic-Con isn’t intended to be another enormous, faceless online marketplace.

We want to bring together the independent traders, artists, makers, collectors and specialist businesses that make conventions worth visiting in the first place.

The idea is ridiculously simple:

Saw it at Comic-Con? Find it on ASACC.

Browse products. Discover traders. Find that stall you remember from a convention. Follow businesses you’ve met at events and continue shopping with them long after the convention doors have closed.

Because Comic-Con shouldn’t disappear at 5pm on Sunday.

September feels particularly appropriate this year

On 19 September 2026, fans around the world will celebrate Batman Day.

DC describes it as a global celebration bringing fans together at comic shops and encouraging people to discover new stories and share their passion for the character.

And there’s something about that idea that feels remarkably close to what we’re trying to build here.

Comic culture has never really been about gigantic corporations or algorithms.

It’s about community.

It’s the comic shop owner who remembers what you collect.

The artist you discover at a convention.

The trader who finally has the figure you’ve been hunting for.

The cosplayer who spent six months creating something extraordinary.

The collector who can tell you precisely why one tiny variation makes a card special.

And the conversation with a complete stranger at a stall that begins with:

“Where did you get THAT?”

That’s Comic-Con.

And that’s the bit we want to keep going all year round.

From Batman to Superman, Pokémon to Star Wars…

We’re deliberately building ASACC to be broad.

Comics. Trading cards. Artwork. Figures. Autographs. Gaming. Movies. Anime. Cosplay. Books. Toys. Clothing. Memorabilia. Convention exclusives and all those wonderfully strange collectibles that are virtually impossible to put into a sensible category.

If it’s the sort of thing you’d expect to discover while wandering around a Comic-Con, we want you to be able to discover it here too.

And September 2026 is an especially fun time to begin: this very month DC and Marvel have even returned to the same pages in a major crossover collection featuring Batman/Deadpool and Superman/Spider-Man — the first major DC/Marvel crossover collection in more than two decades.

If ever there were a month celebrating different corners of geek culture coming together, this isn’t a bad one.

This is only Issue #1

ASACC isn’t finished.

Far from it.

Over the coming months we’ll be adding traders, products, convention listings, news, features and — one of the ideas we’re most excited about — Find That Stall, designed to help reconnect convention visitors with traders they’ve discovered at events.

Somewhere along the way, we’d quite like to build a proper community too.

One that supports the people who spend their weekends loading vans at ridiculous hours, driving across the country, building stalls and filling convention halls with things the rest of us didn’t know we desperately needed until we saw them.

So consider September 2026 Issue #1.

We’re starting small.

But then again…

So did every comic collection.

Welcome to As Seen At Comic-Con.

Saw it. Loved it. Didn’t buy it?

Now you know where to look.
