Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Is Out Now on PS5, Xbox, PC and Switch 2
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is now available, expanding Capcom’s fantasy action RPG while bringing the game to Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time.
The release arrived on 9 October 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. Capcom describes Dark Arisen as paid expansion content for the original Dragon’s Dogma 2, adding a new story and further content shaped in part by player feedback.
What does Dark Arisen add?
Capcom says the expansion was designed to improve accessibility while offering more for established players. The company has not positioned it as a separate sequel: on PlayStation, Xbox and PC it expands the 2024 game.
The Nintendo Switch 2 edition is different because it packages the main game and expansion together. That makes this the franchise’s first appearance on Nintendo’s current hardware and gives new players a single entry point.
The Pawn system remains central
The Dragon’s Dogma series is built around computer-controlled Pawn companions who can act independently during exploration and combat. Capcom says the franchise had passed 14 million cumulative sales by 31 March 2026, giving the expansion a sizeable existing audience.
For newcomers, the useful question is not simply which platform is cheapest. Check performance information, storage requirements and whether a physical edition contains the full game on disc or cartridge before buying. If you already own Dragon’s Dogma 2, confirm that you are looking at the expansion rather than a bundle containing content you already have.
Collector and physical-edition watch
Physical collectors should compare regional packaging, included download codes and any retailer-specific bonuses. A case containing a one-use expansion code is materially different from an edition with all content on physical media.
