Netflix Secures La Velada del Año for Three Years From 2027

Netflix will become the exclusive streaming home of Ibai Llanos’ La Velada del Año for three years, carrying the 2027, 2028 and 2029 editions live to its global audience.

From creator stream to global platform

Launched in 2021, La Velada del Año combines amateur boxing matches between major online creators with live music and stadium-scale production. The event grew primarily through Llanos’ Twitch channel before expanding its 2026 distribution to YouTube and TikTok.

Netflix says the fifth edition reached a peak of 9.3 million concurrent viewers in 2025, while average viewership increased from roughly one million in 2021 to more than six million in 2026.

What the Netflix deal covers

The agreement begins with the seventh edition in 2027 and covers three annual events. Netflix describes the broadcasts as exclusive and live, potentially turning a Spanish-language creator event into a more accessible global appointment.

No venue, fight card or exact broadcast date for the 2027 edition was included in the announcement. Those details should therefore be treated as unconfirmed until Netflix or the organisers reveal them.

Why this matters beyond boxing

La Velada has become a prominent example of online culture moving into traditional venues. Recent editions have filled major Spanish stadiums including Madrid’s Metropolitano and Santiago Bernabéu and Seville’s La Cartuja.

The Netflix agreement also signals continued competition for creator-led live events—programming built around online personalities and community participation rather than established television formats.
