Walt Disney Animation Studios has released a new trailer and poster for Hexed, its original magical coming-of-age adventure, while confirming more of the film’s sprawling voice cast.

The film opens exclusively in cinemas on 27 November 2026. Hailee Steinfeld voices Billie Doe, an impulsive teenager who discovers secret magical abilities and is pulled from suburbia into Hexe, a vast hidden witch realm. Rashida Jones plays her cautious mother Alice, who is forced to join the journey as family secrets begin to surface.

New voices join the spellbook

Disney’s 12 October announcement adds Henry Winkler as Nigel, a skittish but all-knowing potoo bird, and Dan Stevens as Hieronymous, Queen Celeste’s grand councillor. Jodie Foster voices the formidable Queen Celeste, while Walton Goggins plays Beef Roger Crummchuk — a reclusive, magical three-eyed cat who forms an uneasy alliance with Billie and Alice.

The wider cast includes Tracey Ullman, Stephen Fry, Brett Gelman, Samson Kayo, Jimmy O. Yang, Ron Funches, Alan Tudyk, Randall Park, Yvette Nicole Brown and more. Drew McIntyre is also among the newly listed cameos.

Why this one matters for animation collectors

Hexed is not a sequel or a remake: Disney is positioning it as a new world with its own visual language, characters and lore. That makes the new trailer and first-look stills especially useful for collectors watching for the designs that could move into pins, figures, plush and convention art after release.

The project is directed by Fawn Veerasunthorn and Jason Hand, with Josie Trinidad as co-director. Roy Conli and Yvett Merino produce, and Walt Disney Animation Studios chief creative officer Jared Bush shares screenplay credit with Dana Ledoux Miller.

Disney’s official UK press page supplies the trailer, poster and downloadable press materials. The first-look image above shows Billie and Alice inside the vividly coloured realm of Hexe — a strong early hint that the film is being built for big-screen spectacle.
