Netflix’s The Label First Look Puts Three Generations Inside Italy’s Music Business

Netflix has unveiled the first look at The Label, a new six-episode Italian drama starring Christian De Sica and Claudio Santamaria.

A record company on the brink

The story follows Label, described as Italy’s last major independent record company, through the most turbulent year in its history. Ade, played by De Sica, is a brilliant but overbearing patriarch who refuses to surrender control. His son Carlo, played by Santamaria, is caught between pressure from the banks and the weight of the family legacy.

A third generation arrives through Celeste, played by Sofia Conti. She brings a new wave of artists into the business just as the company approaches bankruptcy and the family searches for the song—or performer—that might save it.

Cast and creative team

The cast also includes Cristiana Capotondi, Ornella Muti, Madior Giorgio Fall and Martina Gatti. Luca Miniero directs, with Giacomo Bendotti, Stefano Bises and Davide Serino credited as creators. Be Water Film produces the series for Netflix.

Why the premise works

The first-look photograph places De Sica and Santamaria together inside the label’s world, immediately establishing the generational conflict. The series promises a mixture of family power struggle, changing musical tastes, financial pressure, romance and creative partnership.

Netflix has said the series is coming soon but has not announced a release date. Until then, any specific launch claims should be treated as unconfirmed.
