New York Comic Con visitors will be able to step into Panem without even entering the Javits Center. Lionsgate is bringing The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping to NYCC week with a free immersive experience across from the convention venue.

From District 12 to the 50th Hunger Games

The experience is designed as a journey through the world of the upcoming film, beginning with a District 12-inspired environment featuring propaganda artwork disrupted by rebellion markings before moving into imagery and environments tied to the Games and the Flickerman stage.

A clever Comic-Con strategy

Offsite experiences have become a major part of big convention weeks because they can reach badge-holders and fans who are in the city without a show ticket. For a franchise as visually recognisable as The Hunger Games, that also creates the kind of photo and social moments that travel far beyond the physical activation.

Sunrise on the Reaping is scheduled for cinema release on 20 November 2026.
