Funko’s new EVENT EDITION programme officially begins on 2 October, bringing eight show-only collectibles to selected fan events around the world — with a UK HMV Funko Fan Event confirmed for November.

The key detail for collectors is simple: these EVENT EDITION releases are designed to be bought in person. Funko says the exclusives will be available only at authorised Comic Cons, stores and fan events in participating territories and will not be sold online.

What is Funko EVENT EDITION?

Funko has created eight EVENT EDITION exclusives for 2026, with more promised for 2027. The announced line-up spans several major fandoms, including Pompompurin, Spy x Family’s Anya Forger, Marvel’s Scarlet Witch, Disney’s Stitch, One Piece and Dragon Ball Super.

The programme starts on 2 October at official Funko Store fan events in the Philippines and United Arab Emirates, before rolling out through events across Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Canada.

UK collectors: HMV is on the list

For British collectors, the most important entry is the HMV Funko Fan Event, which Funko lists for November 2026. A specific UK date and participating-store detail have not yet been published on Funko’s EVENT EDITION page, so collectors should wait for the official announcement before making travel plans.

Other European stops include Made in Asia in Belgium, Lucca Comics & Games in Italy, Heroes Comic Con Stockholm, Heroes Dutch Comic Con, Comic Con Stuttgart and Manga Barcelona.

There is a proper convention-style catch

Not every EVENT EDITION is guaranteed to appear at every participating event. Funko says territory restrictions mean the selection can vary, and recommends checking with the event or store nearer the date.

That makes these releases particularly interesting for convention collectors: unlike a standard ‘exclusive’ that later appears online, the stated concept is built around physically attending an authorised event.

Collector cards and event prizes

Participating events stocking EVENT EDITIONS will also offer a free Collector Card with each EVENT EDITION purchase in EMEA, APAC and Latin America. Funko also says fans at participating EMEA and APAC events can have opportunities to win EVENT EDITION sticker packs, collectible pins and tote bags.

Why ASACC is watching this

For independent traders and collectors, EVENT EDITION is another sign that manufacturers see conventions and physical fan events as more than a sales floor. Scarcity, location and the experience of finding something at a show are becoming part of the collectible itself.

It could also make the November UK HMV event a serious hunting date for Funko fans. ASACC will update the story when Funko or HMV confirms the UK dates, locations and exact exclusives.
